Dating- A simple Sipitual Process

What is Dating?

Dating, in the simplest terms, is the process of selecting and attracting another person for the purpose of some sort of a relationship, whether that be a friendship, or whether it include love, sex, commitment, living together, marriage, having children, or a combination of any of these.

For the most part, people begin dating in their early teens, and these relationships can be considered as fun and exciting and a great way to learn more about your own self and your own values and morals. There are many different forms of dating, perhaps even as many as there are people.

Dating was in fact invented in the early part of this century, as prior to that dating relationships were actually not conducted at all, and marriage was always considered the right way to meet that someone special.

Everyone has a different view of what is right and what is wrong in the world of dating, and everyone is obviously free to their own opinion. However it must be known that there is a glaring fault in the models that we have set up in the world of today, ones which cause significant double-standards and subsequent confusion, especially by the younger generation.

For instance, once we are married, we recognize that certain things are sacred to our partner, such as co-habitation, kissing, intimate hugging, sex, and the bringing up of children. What this means is that through dating, we as a people tend to presume to partake in many of these privileges of marriage.

Dating Violence

Dating violence is an important issue in regards to the whole dating issue; it may include various forms of abuse, including psychological and emotional abuse, physical abuse, sexual abuse, or a combination of any of these. This can begin with such seemingly subtle things such as insults and demeaning remarks and can easily escalate to pushing, shoving, even severe battering and rape.

The most important thing is to in fact notice these more subtle signs, so that you do not end up prolonging the relationship, which if it was violent to begin with in any way, will most likely result in being much more devastating at the end. The longer you leave a situation like this, the worse it will be, so the key here is to end things before they escalate to the point where it is too late.
